Buy it if
You employ two pilots, fly mostly 300–1,300 nm trips with 3–6 passengers and real baggage, and want more cabin and full-fuel payload than a CJ3 at a similar or lower price.
Fuel is the biggest line at 300 hours a year; pilots is the biggest fixed cost.
Assumptions
~300 hr/yr, professionally crewed (two pilots), United States, price basis 09/28/2026: total $995k–$1,508k/yr before financing and depreciation. Fuel 180–205 gph @ $7.52/gal (AirNav US average). Maintenance total = airframe/avionics allowance ($330–730/hr) + PW535B engine program/reserve ($372–634/hr); not split scheduled/unscheduled because sources don't split it. 'Other' = optional management ($0–48k) + misc fixed ($10k) + crew travel/fees ($225/hr). Split fields are midpoints of researched ranges; full ranges and sources in.
Why 65 on purchase value & resale: Slightly below 70: capability per dollar is fair against the CJ3 (higher prices) but liquidity is weak and the model now carries a mandatory two-pilot requirement that may narrow the buyer pool. Low evidence confidence.

A/C motor brush replacement every 500 hr (AD 2015-17-12)
Twin PW535B (FADEC) engines have a 5,000-hr overhaul interval (Guardian, AOPA). ESP Gold is the common program; one 2026 listing (560-0771) states $317/hr per engine (~$634/hr aircraft).
APU: None (no factory APU)
Known issues
Air-conditioning compressor motor brush wear (tailcone smoke/fire risk; repetitive AD)
Engine fire-extinguisher bottle wiring (AD 2025-11-09)
TDR-94D transponder strapping (AD 2014-18-01)
Thinner Pro Line 21 upgrade path than CJ/XLS+ models
A/C compressor motor brush wear (tailcone smoke/fire) led to repetitive 500-hr brush replacement ADs covering 560-0751-0815. MROs cite gear/brakes/anti-skid and ECS/pressurization as common Citation wear items (generic). No Encore+-specific engine/FADEC issue reports found. Pro Line 21 with FMS-3000; listed examples already have WAAS/LPV and ADS-B Out. Collins' 2025 Pro Line 21 upgrade (EFB, wireless database loading) covers CJ1+ to CJ4 and XLS+ but not the Encore+, which points to thinner upgrade paths. Retains Garmin GPS-500 and TDR-94D (subject to AD 2014-18-01).

“The Citation Encore+ is the last and most refined version of Cessna's straight-wing Model 560, the airplane that began as the Citation V in 1989.”
The Citation Encore+ is the last and most refined version of Cessna's straight-wing Model 560, the airplane that began as the Citation V in 1989. Only 65 were built, serial numbers 560-0751 through 560-0815, delivered from 2007 into early 2010. Compared with the Encore it replaced, the airframe and cabin are the same; the changes are in the engines and the panel. Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535B engines add FADEC at the same 3,400 lb of thrust, Collins Pro Line 21 with the FMS-3000 replaces Honeywell's Primus 1000, and takeoff weight rises 200 lb to 16,830 lb.
Pilot's take
AOPA's 2008 pilot report notes that most customers already flew the Encore and Encore+ with two pilots, and quotes a climb to FL400 in just under 15 minutes. The FADEC engines remove manual power-setting work, and the Pro Line 21/FMS-3000 panel is a big step from the Primus 1000 in earlier Encores. The straight wing keeps approach and field numbers friendly. Plan it as a two-pilot jet from day one.
Who this is for · A small company or family office with a two-pilot crew flying regional trips with several passengers and luggage, moving up from a CJ2+/Bravo or turboprop.
